Procurement Directorate

Brief Background

The Procurement Unit is an outfit established in 2007 in the then Polytechnic before its conversion to Technical University in April 2020. The Procurement Unit was upgraded to a Directorate under the office of the Vice Chancellor in 2020. The Procurement Directorate is responsible for the planning and coordinating of all procurement activities of the University. It ensures that goods, works and services undertaken by the University are available at the right time, right place, in the right quantities, right price and right quality in accordance with the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663) as amended.

👁 Vision: To be a center of excellence in strategic based procurement by ensuring value for money in the procurement of goods, works, technical services and consultancy services for the University.
🎯 Mission: To ensure a strategic supply chain collaboration between suppliers, departments and students through fair, transparent and efficient manner for the growth of the University.

  • Planning and coordinating all procurement activities of the University
  • Ensuring procurement of goods, works and services comply with the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663) as amended
  • Managing tender processes, evaluation, and contract awards
  • Maintaining supplier relationships and procurement records
  • Ensuring value for money in all procurement transactions
